The DFG calls for gender and diversity to be adequately taken into account in order to improve the quality of research and avoid "blind spots". Taking such dimensions into account can have concrete implications for the planning, implementation and results of a research project. However, the importance of gender and diversity varies across disciplines, research contexts, topics, and methods. To assist, the DFG offers a checklist that can help applicants determine whether gender and diversity are relevant to their research project and proposal submission.
