The University of Konstanz puts a great deal of emphasis on diversity in society. It endeavours to create an inclusive climate that is (mostly) free of discrimination. Diversity, anti-discrimination and inclusion are the pillars of this vision: the university creates optimal possibilities of development for all her members and promotes equal access and participation in all areas. Thus it becomes more attractive as a place to learn, teach, study and work, now and in the future.
Anti-discrimination and diversity are two sides of the same medal: diversity work on the one hand includes measures of individual support to help equalise existing barriers. On the other hand, further measures aim at overcoming structural obstacles and pushing the university to open up itself with regards to diversity.
