Precaution App

Excel App for Determining Occupational Health Precautions

A small filling aid

If it is not so easy to fill out the online form, especially when it comes to determining the offer or obligatory provision, simply take our small provision app at hand. The app is started automatically when you open the Excel file Vorsorge_App.xlsm.

You may have to agree to activate the processing, as the "unknown file" originates from the Internet.

You may then have to agree to the activation of macros (yellow bar at the top).

How's it going

You will find a few lists and checkboxes. In the top list, select the type of threat we are dealing with:

  • All
  • Biochemicals
  • Hazardous substances
  • Physical loads
  • Other charges

If you select "All", the entire list of substances or activities (around 120 entries) is available in the selection box below. If you make a selection above, the list is filtered or contains only the entries of the respective category.

As soon as you make a selection, this means that the substance is used or the activity is carried out under the specified conditions. This automatically leads to a precautionary offer. Depending on the substance or activity, other conditions may appear below the list that you need to check. These conditions may classify the activity more precisely, for example, by higher limit values or action values. If only one further condition applies (click on "Applies"), the precaution changes to "Compulsory precaution".

To the right of the type of provision now displayed, which you should include in the registration form, the corresponding G number, i.e. the previous DGUV principle, is also displayed. These numbers are practically deregistered and will no longer be used, but they still allow you to draw conclusions about any associated DGUV information that you will find in the Causes and Principles table.

If you close the app (red cross in the top right corner), you can open it again by clicking on "Add Ins" in the Excel menu and then on "Vorsorge" in the top left corner.

The window of the Precaution App

This allows you to reopen the app after it has been closed. If you close Excel and restart it, the app will be opened automatically as soon as you open the Excel file Vorsorge_App.xlsm.
