There is a great need for meaningfull empirical and experimental studies (small and large ones) on theories and hypotheses about the nature, relevance, development and fostering of moral competence. Welcome are also replications studies, with or without variations of the design.

What is not needed are mindless comparisons ("explorative studies") hoping for "significant differences." Mostly, if not always, they are a waist of time and money.

Two things, you should not forget: first, to calculate absolute effect sizes (Lind 2016) and, second, if you do an intervention study, tell the reader how well the administrator of the intervention method was trained. Especially if you use the KMDD for intervention, the effect size depends very much on the level of training of the teacher. Only well-trained, certified KMDD-Teachers have a sizeable impact on their students' moral competence development (Lind 2016).

Here are my ideas (add your own ones and let me know for inclusion in this list):

The natur of moral behavior and development (dual-aspect theory, two-layer theory)

Relevance of moral competence for social behavior: Are people with high moral competence ...

Development of moral competence

Effective fostering of moral cometence
