I am currently Assistant Professor for Political Economy at the Graduate School of Decision Sciences and the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz, and will be joining the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse in 2017. I received a Ph.D. (2013) in Politics from Princeton University with a dissertation on the redistributive consequences of democratic constitutions. My research interests include comparative politics, political economy, and applied formal and quantitative methods with a special focus on the economic effects and origins of political institutions, redistributive politics, elections and representation, and the political influence of labor unions. My work has appeared in academic journals such as American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, and Comparative Political Studies.
