Welcome to the Tera group at University of Konstanz!

Many of the fundamental laws and unexpected phenomena in condensed matter physics are caused by extremely fast dynamics of electrons and ions on the femtosecond time [1] and terahertz frequency scale [2]. Unravelling such ultrafast processes is the main interest of our research. We develop next-generation, high-intensity femtosecond laser sources and THz technology, and employ them to explore novel femtophysics in the far and mid infrared domain.

Embedded in a unique, vibrant research environment at University of Konstanz, the Tera team is directly funded by the elite program "Emmy Noether" of the German Research Foundation (DFG). We participate in a network of synergetic collaborations, internationally as well as locally within the Department of Physics and the Konstanz Center for Applied Photonics (CAP).
Currently, we have several open positions for excellent diploma and PhD students. Please, find out more about us and our ongoing work on these webpages. For further information and if you are interested in joining our team, please, contact Rupert Huber.

[1] 1 fs = 10-15 s
[2] 1 THz = 1012 Hz
