Research

In neuroethology, the neuronal basis of behaviour is investigated, i.e. the association of a behavioural performance with the underlying neuronal functions. The aim of our research is the analysis of the neuromuscular basis of insect locomotion and a better understanding of the effects which external stimuli have on the animal and its reactions. Our group uses mainly two animals for the examination of animal motion which display general principles of insect locomotion: locusts and roaches.
